TokenCalculator.dev is an open-web utility provided for planning and informational use without warranties.

Calculation accuracy

Provider tokenizers, model behavior, limits, and prices can change. Exact badges apply only to the raw text and tokenizer shown; API wrappers, tools, system instructions, and provider processing can add tokens.

Pricing accuracy

Live and fallback pricing data can be delayed or incomplete. Verify material spending decisions against official provider documentation and actual API usage records.

Public API use

You may use the public developer API in applications, scripts, testing tools, and internal workflows subject to the documented request-size, batch-size, and rate limits. Do not attempt to bypass limits, disrupt service, probe infrastructure, or use the API for unlawful activity. We may throttle or block abusive traffic.

Availability

The free API is provided without a service-level agreement. Endpoints, limits, schemas, and model coverage may evolve; versioned breaking changes will use a new API path where practical.

Sensitive data

The public HTTP API requires transmitting its payload to TokenCalculator infrastructure. Do not send secrets or regulated data. For confidential prompts, documents, or source code, use the browser-local calculator or local npm package.
